For your project to be successful you will need to commit to a process and set some goals. Continue reading to learn about my process and what I look for in my perfect client.
Let’s make sure that what you need and what I create are in line with one another. In the Discovery phase, I will ask you a lot of questions about your business, your competition, products, and goals. So be prepared! This allows me to get a clear idea of what needs to be included behind the scenes to run your website and what it should look like when it is completed.
2. Sitemap / Prototype
Sitemaps & Prototypes are visual ways to explain your website. The sitemap lets you view the structure of the overall website, and gets you thinking about the content required to fill the pages. The prototype focuses on the layout of the pages and is a stripped down, gray, sketchy version of the web pages. Here is an example of a sitemap and a prototype.
This is where your website starts to take shape. I take your interactive prototype and develop your website based on all the answers you provided in the Discovery Phase. Before this phase begins we need all your content in place. This is where I combine the content and your brand, colors, and functionality all together into a finished website.
Between the Design Phase and the actual Delivery of your website, I work hard to put all the final pieces in place. I will make sure everything is set up, connected and tested before launching your new website. This is also the time for you to check to make sure the pieces are working as you outlined in Discovery. Now the site launches and goes live!
Your website is live. Now what? I make sure when I hand off your website you know what to do with it. Your maintenance care plan covers the big technical stuff, unless you opt to do that on your own. I have you covered for the small stuff, too. I will give you the "owner's manual", and walk you through what you need to know. There will also be videos and documentation so you can add content and keep your site fresh.
6. Website Care
Maintenance and upkeep of your website are not optional. Keeping things running smoothly is more than adding content. Maintenance is what helps to keep the bad guys out and your site running smoothly. Let me take care of the updates so you can run your business . A good care plan is a must and the second-best investment you will make other than your new website.
It is important that you have clear, SMART goals. Together we can create a website as long as you have a plan for what you need. If you are still unsure about your identity and needs we can schedule a Discovery Session to create a roadmap.
Have an Audience
You need to know your target audience or niche. If you need to build or increase your audience we can devise a plan to do that. I will do the behind the scenes work to get your site noticed. Connecting with your audience and growing it will require some work from you.
Time is a precious commodity! If you invest time at the necessary checkpoints on the project I can use my time effectively. Your project will be successful if you are invested, responsive and provide the needed content and images.

Your website is an investment in your business. One size does not fit all! Your website will be customized to reflect your unique needs. The investment needed is determined by the functionality required to serve your customers.
