Membership or Course?
Whether you are an online coach, entrepreneur or just have something to teach others, there are two common ways to share your content. You can use the paid membership model (pay a one-time or recurring subscription and gain access to content) or online courses (each with a starting point, ending point and modules and lessons.)
With a membership site, your subscribers pay a recurring fee to access content. This content may include courses, workshops, blog posts, research, etc. A membership site is like a magazine, your subscribers will expect fresh content on a regular basis. Members need to feel they are getting a good value for their investment so it is important that new content is added regularly. A membership site requires more work creating new content than you would need for an online course.
Online course sites are great ways to engage with your customers in more manageable bites. You deliver content (which may include assignments, projects, grades) in segments. Your customer signs up for one or more courses, each having a set curriculum. The idea is to take your student from "start to finish" on your topic.
